Position overview:

Regency is seeking highly motivated individuals for temporary positions. The Financial Aid Call Center temps will assist in providing information, advice and resources to prospective and active students to ensure an acceptable payment plan to cover their tuition.  This includes pro-actively assisting prospective and active students with completing their financial aid within established deadlines and service levels.  The Financial Aid Call Center temps will maintain financial aid program integrity and compliance with State, Federal and accreditation regulations.

Given the student service and support orientation of this role, it is essential that the individual in this role be able to work a regular and reliable schedule and be able to work overtime when necessary, in the discretion of management, to meet company needs.

Reports to: Financial Aid Supervisor

Compensation: $13-$15/hour depending on qualifications

Schedule: Temporary position: Varied months March through October, Full-time, general business hours with minimal evening hours required

Type: Full-time (35+ hours/week)

Experience required: 1-5 years

Location: Regency Headquarters, St. Louis Park, MN

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preliminary financial aid interview via telephone and complete questionnaires with prospective and active students
  • Provide prospective and active students with accurate information regarding the application process and their estimated eligibility for State and/or Federal assistance or alternative financing
  • Make high levels of outbound calls to prospective and active students
  • Respond to high levels of inbound calls from prospective and active students
  • Maintain appropriate ticket and phone service levels
  • Perform diligent follow-up on missing paperwork due from students to complete their files within established deadlines and service levels
  • Accurately answer student questions regarding financial aid

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in cosmetology industry and/or education a plus
  • Strong phone skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to grasp complex federal regulations with training
  • High ethical standards
  • Previous customer service skills preferred
